The bilge is lowest part of the hull below the waterline where the two sides meet at the keel. Water that does not drain off the side of the deck drains down through the ship into the bilge. This bilge water may be from rough seas, rain, leaks in the hull or stuffing box, or other interior spillage. The collected water must be pumped out to prevent the bilge from becoming too full and threatening the buoyancy of the ship.
Bilge water can be found aboard almost every vessel, and in some situations it is not possible to install an electric bilge pump. Since fuel can be present in the bilge, a manual pump is also a safer option than electric pumps.
This manual hand pump is a cost effective easy to use solution to remove problematic bilge water.
The lever handle is fixed in position and the base can be screwed down via the 4 x mounting holes. The hose connections are 25mm diameter.
A simple solution to an age old problem.
