Samson Post

Samson posts are designed to allow you to quickly secure or release lines, and are perfect for pulling heavy loads. The wide central upright post provides a sturdy base to hook your line around and the smaller horizontal bar prevents it from slipping off. They can often be found on the edges of docks as convenient mooring points or on the bow of pleasure boats to support the anchor line.

This model of samson post is available in three sizes: 50mm, 60mm and 70mm making them suitable to use with a range of rope sizes. The samson post’s size is categorised by the diameter of the round central post. As with many things size is relative: the larger the bollard, the larger the line it can be used with and the larger the boat it is suitable for. If in doubt bigger is usually better! The base plate has 4 x  countersunk fixing holes so it can be easily screwed into position.
